The Okmulgee Main Street 48 Hour Film Festival gives filmmaking teams two days to plan, shoot and edit a short film before it is screened to the public for a cash prize. The competition will begin Friday, October 5, 2018 at 7 p.m. at The Element Party. It takes place inside of the Mabrey Bank Meeting Room, located downtown Okmulgee on 6th Street. Here you will be given the elements that are required for the competition. The filming ends Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 7 p.m.
The movies will screen on October 13, after the Chili Festival prizes have been awarded. You can walk on over to the Orpheum Theatre for the “Orange Carpet” event beginning at 4:00 pm and stay for the screening of all of the 48-hour entries which will begin at 5:00 pm. Join us in supporting local filmmakers with an evening of entertainment at the historic Orpheum Theater. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5.00.
